Menopause is a deeply personal transition—one that every woman will experience, yet many feel unprepared for. It is more than a physical shift; it is emotional, spiritual, and often isolating. The changes can be confusing, even overwhelming, and too often, they are met with silence.Nourishment plays a powerful role—not just in easing symptoms, but in affirming self-care. Choosing what supports us, physically and emotionally, is an act of empowerment. It is a way of saying: I deserve to feel well. I deserve to be seen. Education is the bridge. When we learn together and support one another, we rewrite the story of menopause—from something endured in silence to something embraced with strength and wisdom. Recently, an evening event was held at the Harbaugh-Thomas Library, with over twenty women attending as Rebecca Speelman, Ed.D., a certified holistic nutritionist, shared “Menopause and Nutrition: It’s the One Thing No One Talks About…Until Now”.
