Menopause is a deeply personal transition—one that every woman will experience, yet many feel unprepared for. It is more than a physical shift; it is emotional, spiritual, and often isolating. The changes can be confusing, even overwhelming, and too often, they are met with silence.Nourishment plays a powerful role—not just in easing symptoms, but in affirming self-care. Choosing what supports us, physically and emotionally, is an act of empowerment. It is a way of saying: I deserve to feel well. I deserve to be seen. Education is the bridge. When we learn together and support one another, we rewrite the story of menopause—from something endured in silence to something embraced with strength and wisdom. Recently, an evening event was held at the Harbaugh-Thomas Library, with over twenty women attending as Rebecca Speelman, Ed.D., a certified holistic nutritionist, shared “Menopause and Nutrition: It’s the One Thing No One Talks About…Until Now”.
Today’s Tip: Find Fresh Air Ask someone to open a window nearby and breathe in the outdoor air. Stretch your arms and legs, take a deep breath, and be quiet and still. Think of a peaceful place and enjoy the moment with the windows open. Weather permitting, do this as often as you are able […]
This has been one of the most powerful things I have done. To be my own advocate, I need to find quality research and hear from those who have experienced a similar journey to my own. It seems no two people experience Lyme and its co-infections the same, so I recognized that difference early on. […]
Each day has possibility! Strive to find joy in the small details and attempt to take small steps away from feeling unwell. These small steps can be taking in the beauty of a sunset, enjoying the taste of cold water, feeling cool grass under your feet. They may be a breath of fresh air, or […]
My medical doctor mentioned Qi Gong to me several months ago. I was dealing with “out of control” electromagnetic sensitivity; traveling away from my secluded home led to what felt like force fields of energy pressing my shoulders and head into the back of the car’s seat, intense vice grip head pressure, muscle spasms, hands […]
Do you ever ask others the question, “Do you smell that?” I do ALL of the time, or at least I used to; now I feel like an undercover agent with details I don’t need to share. I am hypersensitive to tons of things due to my health and genetics. As always, I am looking […]
I am not sure about you, but I need to find more and more natural products with simple ingredients. So, here is my choice of a two-ingredient go-to face cleanser, especially during a skin flare event. I mix together with a 2:1 ratio of honey to cinnamon, gently massage the mixture onto my face and […]
Drink lots of clean water each day! I am detoxing and working on lymphatic draining, so my goal is to drink a gallon a day. I also look for the cleanest and most pure water available. My minimum standards are that the water must be free from chlorine and fluoride. If you want to know […]
As promised from yesterday’s post, here are a few of the foods we find to be tasty and healthy, all without gluten and dairy, and a minimal amount of sugar. I am going to share our own breakfast go-to foods today, because there are lots of options for you!! Just to start! Breakfast: Van’s Gluten-Free […]
I know you don’t want to hear it! Food may be one of the few comforts you believe you have in your life. Yet, it was one of the biggest culprits in helping us get better. I needed to remove gluten from my diet early on…it was tearing me apart. Dairy was next, then egg. […]
** This is part two of a post tied to the phases of the moon and parasites. As I am working through my healing process, my skin has taken a lot of damage from Lyme, co-infections, and parasites!. I’ve dealt with Morgollens disease, eczema, and most recently, a cyclical assault of spirochetes tied to the […]
